A superb Mosel vintage managed by the deft hands of Dr. Katharina Prum. Really harmonious, elegant, and balanced with clean notes of green apple, white peach, smoky grapefruit, pear, white plum, lime, and petrol. From the famed, steep Wehlener Sonnenuhr (Virgin Sundial) vineyard. While this wine shows generously on “pop and pour” it is layered and complex on day two and three of being open and will age effortlessly in a cellar for years if not decades to come. While there is some residual sugar in this wine it is exquisitely balanced with fresh acidity and the sweetness is never cloying. One of the top producers in the region and one of the best vintages of the decade. Impressive stuff.
