This is an exceptional bottle of wine from a region that is really heating up. 100% Carricante from the Sciaranuova contrada on the north slopes of Mount Etna. Elegant and brimming with sliced apple, lemon peel, white peach, white pepper, flint, and a dense streak of smoky minerality imparted by these gravel rich volcanic soils (former lava flows). Grown at 730 meters of altitude and aged in large Slavonian oak barrels for one year. Put this up against any premier cru Chablis or Burgundy and be amazed. Drink or hold.
