Gaia ~14-18H~ Nemea-Peloponnese, Greece 2011 $15

We've offered several red Agiorgitiko in the past, but this might be the very first rosé. Agiorgitiko (ah-yee-or-yee-tee-koe) is the Greek name for Saint George, a native grape to Nemea in the Peloponnese that's been the primary wine varietal for millennia. Named in honor of Gaia (Mother Nature in Greek Mythology), this rosé is a great rendition of Agiorgitiko which achieves its lovely color and complex flavor from a 14 to 18 hour maceration on the skins. Bring this to the next cook-out.

Tasting Notes: A full-bodied dry rosé made from 100% Agiorgitiko. Lots of bright red fruit with a hint of spice.
